I visited a friend who is taking up graduate studies in University of California--Berkeley. I had been wanting to see the campus since last year as I am considering it, being a good school and being around only twenty minutes away from our place here, as a possibility for my own future studies.
I wasn't disappointed, and was even delighted as I noticed the relaxed and laid back atmosphere (because, as my friend explained, it's a California thing) complimenting the cool and sunny afternoon. It was a relatively small yet open campus, where you can comfortably go from one end to another in a leisurely stride. It really reminded me of my present alma mater--with a difference: really good academic bookstores (with used books sections!) and, of course, how could I miss saying it, a wide selection of watering holes. Books in tow, we retreated to one at the end of the afternoon, had five pints of beer each, talked about the NBA playoffs, research projects and my future plans which suddenly had to accommodate the possiblity of UC-Berkeley.
